Storm Damage Cleanup
Limbs down, lines threatened, debris everywhere.
After a major storm, the debris you can see is only part of the problem. Included with every Cedar & Oak storm cleanup is a post-storm arborist assessment of the trees that are still standing — we look for included bark, split leaders, root heave, and other structural damage that isn't obvious from the ground but will become a problem in the next storm.
We clear and haul all downed limbs, broken tops, and brush. For trees that took partial damage, we assess whether a restoration prune can save the tree or whether removal is the right call — and we give you that recommendation in writing before any work starts on the standing trees.
What's included
- Free on-site post-storm assessment — no obligation
- Full debris removal: downed limbs, broken tops, scattered brush
- Arborist inspection of remaining trees for hidden structural damage
- Restoration pruning available for storm-damaged trees with a viable structure
Common questions
- How do I know if a storm-damaged tree is safe to keep?
- The key factors are: how much of the crown was lost, whether the main leader is intact, whether the root system shows signs of heave or shift, and the species' capacity for compartmentalization. We assess all of these on-site and give you a written risk rating with our recommendation. Some trees recover fully with a restoration prune; others need to come down before the next event.
- Can you help me document the damage for insurance?
- Yes — full written assessment, photos of the damage before any cleanup, scope of work, and itemized invoice. We've worked with every major carrier that serves the Columbus area and know what documentation they need to process a claim without back-and-forth.
